The main Lifford to Ballybofey road has been shut due to a road traffic accident.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash between Killygordon and Castlefin close to Byrne's Shop at Liscooly.
A man in one of the two cars involved in the crash was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital with what are believed to have been serious injuries.
Two people in the otehre vehicle also received treatment for injuries.
The accident scene was cordoned off for a technical examination, and the road was closed off last night and remained closed during the morning.
Traffic diversions were put in place.
Motorists in the area were advised to take extra time for their journey.
Meanwhile, Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N15 at Cartron, Bundoran Road, Sligo yesterday evening at approximately 6.40pm.
A female pedestrian, 86 years, suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car. She was brought to Sligo General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A post mortem is to be arranged.
No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investiagtors.
