Long serving Fianna Fail councillor Victor Fisher is set to quit Fianna Fail after 45 years.
The Letterkenny town councillor told the Letterkenny Post today that he feels that he has been “shafted.”
The popular local councillor had indicated that he would be willing to run for the party again in May’s local elections.
But when he was not asked his son David expressed a willingness to stand in the new Letterkenny-Milford electoral area.
However, last night the party announced its four candidates – Cllr. Ciaran Brogan and Liam Blaney along with businessman John Watson and Glenswilly GAA captain James Pat McDaid.
Cllr. Fisher has blasted the party hierarchy for not holding a convention in a normal fashion and not allowing grassroots members to vote.
