Two groups of anglers have just had a few days to remember as they went out fishing off the Donegal coast.

One party of three hooked seven fish on Saturday - including one Bluefin tuna estimated to have a weight of around 400lbs - and three more on Sunday.

They were all out on a charter boat, the Evie Rose, operated out of Kilcar by Adrian Molloy who runs a sea angling charter service specialising in angling charters for tuna, shark and other large species.

One of the anglers was a thirteen year-old - it was an experience he will never forget.

All the tuna are released.

Another party of four anglers also had a great couple of days angling. They managed to hook six Bluefin Tuna,  estimated at between 220lb to 320lb.

One of the anglers, David McCormick filmed and produced this stunning video clip, showing them angling just a few miles from Slieve League.

The waters off Donegal offer a great angling experience.

Indeed, such is the growing popularity, that Mr Molloy is already fully booked for next year.

"I have people coming from Japan, Singapore, Denmark, Sweden and the U.S," he said.

Bluefin tuna migrate up to the Donegal waters from mid-August to mid-November.

The anglers stay in local hotels and B&Bs and eat out in local restuarants, providing a welcome boost to the local economy.
