The Orange Hall in Convoy has been damaged in a fire.

The incident occured during the early hours of today.

News of the incident has prompted concerns that the fire may have been started deliberately and gardai are investigating.

Recently an Orange Hall in Newtowncunningham was extensively damaged following what transpired to be an arson attack.

Convoy Thiepval Memorial L.O.L 1005 was formed in 1919.

The lodge was formed as a memorial to the brethern in the village who died in the 1914-18 War. 

The hall was used by a number of local groups.

The Orange Order's Grand Secretary Drew Nelson said it appeared to be similar to an attack on the hall in Newtowncunningham.

"We are very disturbed at what seems to be an emerging pattern," he told BBC Northern Ireland.

"There is a small Protestant minority community in Donegal and they are beginning to feel a bit besieged."
