The first salmon caught on the Crana River, this year was reeled in by local fisherman Pat Kane of Roadside Buncrana

The salmon weighing in at an impressive 14lb 3oz, was caught on Saturday 30th May. Pat donated the fish to Solicitor PA Dorrian, who is also a keen fishing enthusiast.

At the request of Pat kane PA made a donation to the Donegal Hospice.

The fish was filmed by local IT expert William O’Doherty, which he explains was “caught on the fly at the eye of the bridge. You can watch William’s video on line at or  via the Inish Times facebook page.
