The forecast for the weekend looks set to set Donegal aglow with welcome sunshine lighting up St Patrick’s Day parades across the county.

Saturday and Sunday are both forecast for dry and bright sunny weather.

But the temperatures are going to be extremely low so it will be dry but very cold at times.

Met Eireann stated: “It will be mild at first, but early indications suggest that it will become very cold over St Patrick's weekend.

“On Friday, temperatures will range from freezing zero degrees Celsius to four degrees Celsius.

“There is a risk of frost in sheltered parts of the north. St Patrick's weekend will be very cold.

“On Saturday, St Patrick's Day will be dry in many areas, with some bright or sunny spells.

“Maximum temperatures will range from just 1 degrees Celsius or 2 degrees Celsius in the north. Saturday night will be very cold and frosty.”
