Women in business, thinking of going into business or simply returning to the workplace after a break are invited along to a 'fabulous' event in Buncrana’s Inishowen Gateway Hotel.
Entitled “Public Speaking for Women in Business” the event is being co-organised by Emma Porter (Vivid Performances School of Speech and Drama and Public Speaking Coaching) and Stranorlar-based artist, Aileen Kelly.
Speaking to the Inish Times, Emma said: “This fabulous day for women in business is taking place on Thursday, July 19, from 12 noon until 5.00pm.
“It will include a two-hour workshop on public speaking skills, as well as guidance on how to create a talk, carry off a presentation, put together a video blog, compile a 60 second pitch for networking events and advice on how to network effectively.
“The day will include a buffet lunch, as well as talks from eight amazing motivational speakers: Eadaoin Curtin (Fire Child, Dublin), Leah Fairman (Base Enterprise Centre, Stranorlar), Emma Boylan (Outside The Box, Letterkenny), Sara Anderson (Life Coach, Donegal Town), Fiona Higgins (Batik Artist, Letterkenny), Nicola McLaughlin (Sequin Cinderella, Buncrana), Tara Henderson (Tara Couture, Buncrana) and Elizabeth Curran (Studio 47, Buncrana).
“There will also be a chance to put the networking pitches honed earlier in the day into operation at the concluding speed networking session at the end of the day. So I am advising participants to bring as many business cards as they can along to the Inishowen Gateway,” said Emma.
Planet Active Children’s Play Area will be open for children from four years of age and upwards during the Public Speaking for Women in Business event. It costs €10 and can be booked directly through the hotel.
Tickets for the public speaking event cost €15 and can be purchased through eventbrite.ie or directly from Emma McLaughlin or in Tara Henderson’s shop in Buncrana.
