A wonderful new special play park has been opened in Ballymacool Park in Letterkenny.

Universal play equipment enables children with a disability to play alongside their friends and siblings.

Prior to this installation at Ballymacool Park the nearest Universal Play equipment available was in County Cavan.

The new equipment installed at Ballymacool includes the following an Ability Roundabout, a Wheelchair accessible See-Saw and a Bicycle Pedal Roundabout.

These items have been installed at a cost of over €30,000 which has been fundraised by the SNAP (Special Needs Accessible Playpark) charity in Co. Donegal.

A sign is to be placed within the park recognising the generosity and hard work of all who contributed towards this fantastic project.

SNAP has directly funded the equipment through local fundraising and cooperation with local bodies.

SNAP  is a small organisation fundraising for universal play equipment for local town parks. SNAP’s objective is to create areas of universal play and further plans are underway to reach this goal. Every child has the right to play and SNAP are working toward making that happen for all children.
