Finn Harps now find themselves three points adrift at the bottom of the table after UCD shocked Bohemians with a 1-0 victory in a back-log Airtricity League Premier Division clash tonight.
Two weeks ago UCD appeared to be heading for the relegation trap door in the Premier.
But they beat Finn Harps and then drew 0-0 with Derry at the Brandywell.
Having lost 11 straight league games, not to mention seeing the departure of six players, they have suddenly turned things around.
By collecting seven points from their last three games they are now above Harps - and still have one more game in hand.
Last week UCD defeated Finn Harps thanks to a Jason McClelland strike on seven minutes.
And it was an early goal again at the UCD Bowl against Bohs with Yoyo Mahdy finding the target after eight minutes with what turned out to be the winner.
UCD now have 17 points from 24 matches while Harps have 14 from 25.
Teams play 36 league games in the Premier Division.
Significantly, UCD still have to come to Ballybofey, and that massive game is scheduled for Friday, October 4th.
Next up for Harps is a trip to face Waterford United this Friday.
