Improving Finn Harps picked up a very good point as they held Cork City to a 1-1 draw at Turners Cross on Monday evening.

Battling Harps had to come from behind to get a share of the spoils and it was captain Keith Cowan who headed home the equaliser on 73 minutes.

Kieran O'Connor had given the Leesiders the lead four minutes into the second half.

Battling Harps put in another good display and goalkeeper Peter Burke made a number of fine saves.

Having lost ten games on the trot, Harps drew 1-1 away to Sligo on Friday night.

And this result, on a ground where they have had precious little success in recent times, will certainly lift spirits.

Next up for Harps is a home game against UCD on Friday.

Harps are six points behind the Students.
