The race for the Brian McCormick Premier Division title took another twist today.
Castlefin Celtic defeated Milford United 1-0 in dreadful conditions at Park View.
The only goal came on 65 minutes with Emmet White connected at the far post to steer home a Ronan Tourish cross.
The scoreless first-half saw numerous chances at both ends.
Castlefin hit the woodwork three times and Tourish, Johnny Doherty, Rory Dalton, Ian Ward, Corey Lee Bogan and White all had chances.
But Milford had their moments with Darragh Black to the fore and Gary Merritt and, Gavin Grier and Terence Shields had opportunities. They also had a penalty plea dismissed.
This win for Castlefin moves them above Milford into second spot. Castlefin are on 30 points, one behind Kilmacrennan, but with a game in hand.
Milford are on 29 points but have played one game more than Kilmacrennan and two more that Castlefin.
As well as suffering a defeat, Milford's Joey Cullen had to go to casualty after a collision during the second half while Dan O'Donnell picked up an ankle injury.
