The dates for the First Division play-offs have been released by the FAI.

If Finn Harps do not win the league (they would need to secure a win over UCD this Friday and then beat Cabinteely at home with UCD having to lose away to Longford), they will then be in the play-offs.

What position Harps end up in remains to be seen.

The title winners are guaranteed promotion.

But the teams in second, third and fourth are involved in play-offs.

The teams that finish third and fourth meet each other over two legs, and the winners then meet the second placed team over two games. The winners of that contest play the second bottom team in the Premier Division, again over two matches.

If, as seems most probable, Harps finish second, then their play-off (which could be against Shelbourne, Drogheda United, or Longford Town) will have a first leg on Friday, October 12th with Harps away. The home game would be the following week.
