Finn Harps have snapped up a rising young star from Shamrock Rovers.

Sean Boyd is coming to Harps on loan until July.

He joined Shamrock Rovers U19s for the 2014/15 season and finished the campaign as top goalscorer. His performances ensured it was only a matter of time before he progressed to the first team.

Sean made his league debut in May 2016 and registered his first league goal in sensational fashion in the Dublin derby win against Bohs at Tallaght Stadium.

International recognition came his way too during the year when Sean was called up by the Republic of Ireland Under 18s.

He bagged seven competitive goals but wasn’t on the scoresheet in the 2017 campaign when the youngster featured mainly coming off the bench.

The 21-year-old has played 60 times for the Dublin club.

Details of the on loan move emerged today with Shamrock Rovers confirming it on twitter.
