The Finn Harps U17s are back in action this afternoon when Declan Boyle’s boys host Athlone Town in Ballybofey (kick-off 2.00). The Harps 17s remained third in the Elite Section of the Northern League thanks to Conor Black’s 16th minute goal which proved enough to give his side a 1-0 win over Shelbourne in Dublin last Saturday. The former Kilmacrennan FC schoolboy player followed in the footsteps of his twin brother Stephen who scored the equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Sligo Rovers at Finn Park the previous weekend. Athlone are fifth in the table and currently seven points behind Harps. With just four games remaining the visitors really need to win this one to have a chance of qualification for the knockout stages. Victory for Harps, on the other hand, will bring them ever closer to a place in the national play-offs.
