Finn Harps defender Colm Deasy has been given a further four match ban following his sending off for a dreadful tackle on Derry City's Ciaran Coll (a former Harps player) during the recent north-west derby at Finn Park.
Deasy automatically missed Friday night's game against Bohemians, which Harps lost 1-0. This is an additional ban that has been dished out following a meeting of the Football Association of Ireland's Disciplinary Control Unit, having taken into account the report of the referee at the game.
Initially, there were fears that Coll may have broken his leg, but despite being stretchered off the park and taken by ambulance to hospital, he recovered sufficiently to feature for Derry in Friday night's 2-0 win over UCD!
Tempers certainly started spilling over during the derby clash, which City won 3-2.
Meanwhile, Derry's Jamie McDonagh has been given a two match ban. He was given a second yellow card after the full time whistle in the game against Harps.
And Derry City assistant manager Kevin Derry has been handed down a one match ban.
The suspensions come into effect from tomorrow, Monday.
