Let there be light - a new era on the way at the home of Donegal junior soccer

The Donegal League's Ballyare headquarters is about to enter a new era.

Work on erecting floodlights has taken place this weekend.

The FAI has provided a €50,000 grant towards the works.

This money comes on top of a €83,500 sports capital grant that was previously announced.

The Donegal League has expressed its thanks to Minister and Donegal TD Joe McHugh and FAI Chief Executive John Delaney for their support.

Ballyare has long been the home of Donegal League football, and the venue for countless finals and big games down through the years.

As well as the main pitch there is also a nine-a-side astro pitch.

The state-of-the-art floodlights will allow for a lot more games to be played at the venue.

The ground is located about seven miles from Letterkenny.
