To coincide with St. Patrick’s Day, the league that Jim McGuinness' Charlotte Independence is playing in, has pulled out the stops to celebrate the best Irish players in the USL championship's history.

Some of the names will be well known to followers of League of Ireland soccer.

In selecting the top ten, the USL website said: "While the Guinness will no doubt be flowing across all 36 Championship cities this weekend, we too have decided to join the party, celebrating the best Irish players in Championship’s history.

"When it comes to those from the Emerald Isle plying their trade in the Championship, it’s been more quality than quantity. There’s no doubt that the players who have been part of the league’s history over the past eight seasons have made a serious impact, including a few USL Cups along the way.

Here’s our list of the 10 Irish players who’ve made the biggest impact in the Championship since the league’s inception in 2011:
