Donegal's Seamus Coleman was taken off at half-time during Everton's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace in the English Premier League at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Toffee's boss Sam Allardyce has now stated that the Republic of Ireland captain and defender will go for a scan.
Everton now have a two week rest before their next game, against Watford.
Coleman – who has just returned from a broken leg – was substituted at half time.
“Séamus Coleman has a muscle injury and will have a scan tomorrow. It is not related to the broken leg he suffered,” Allardyce said.
