Letterkenny Rovers are through to the semi-finals of the FAI Intermediate Cup.

This afternoon they beat Leinster Senior League side Home Farm 2-0 at Leck View Park.

And it was captain Darren McElwaine who came up trumps as the scored both goals.

He fired Rovers ahead with a free on 33 minutes.

And he followed that up with a penalty in the second half.

Rovers' manager Eamon McConigley has tasted intermediate cup glory as both a player and manager with Fanad United.

Two years ago, Rovers got to the final and lost out to Crumlin United in the decider at the Aviva Stadium.

A video of McElwaine's penalty was posted on social media by the Soccer Donegal facebook page.
