Donegal’s own Errigal Motorcycle Club are excited to announce their recent move into fresh pastures as they prepare for the upcoming 5ht round of their Errigal Club Championship on Sunday, July 27th at their brand new venue, and first visit to, Inishowen Quad Safari at Drumfad, Linsfort - located just outside of Buncrana.
Errigal MCC mainly promote the exciting, adrenaline fueled extreme sport of Motocross (or MX as it’s more commonly known) or Scrambling as the sport was previously called in the past.
The club are particularly pleased to bring MX back to the Buncrana area for the first time since the mid-1990s, following the very kind invitation of Mr. Peter Mc Laughlin of Inishowen Quad Safari, who offered the his track for the event.
Peter, with the help of some Errigal MCC members, converted some of his existing quad tracks, to widen them and prepare them for the slightly different application and requirements of hosting an MX Race.
There is now a real buzz amongst the MX Fraternity about the prospect of racing for the first time at the new and excellently prepared Inishowen Quad Safari Track.
Everyone is welcome to attend this family day out on Sunday, July 27th. Practice starts at 10.30am and racing gets underway at 11.30am. Admission is €5.00, accompanied children Under-12 go free.
The nearby Laurentic Bar will also be holding the post-event Prize Giving and refreshments will be provided for all the weary riders attending following the hard days
Errigal MCC would like to thank both Peter at Inishowen Quad Safari and also the Laurentic Bar for supporting getting behind this event.
The exciting sport of MX is off-road motorcycle racing over rough ground and obstacles such as jumps, bumps, hills, and corners, either naturally occurring or man-made to form a circuit track with the general consensus that the ‘rougher the better’ to provide the maximum thrills and spills in equal measures ensuring excellent entertainment for riders and spectators alike.
Errigal MCC cater for all ages and abilities with our youngest competitors starting at 6-years of age, through to some competitors still going strong at over 60-years of age, and everyone in between.
Errigal are renowned for their blend of being able to provide a very welcoming, fun, and friendly atmosphere and an excellent first step for prospective new riders to cut their teeth in the sport of MX, yet they remain one of the ‘slickest’ and often copied MX Clubs with the expert riders banging bars and really showing how the sport can be done at the very top level, along with youth riders all in the same programme.
