There will be a huge Donegal interest in tomorrow's Galway International Rally which marks the first round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

Craig Breen is the top seed in a star studded field with 25 R5 entries.

Among those taking part is three-times Donegal winner Manus Kelly.

And it's his birthday today.

He'll be hoping for a belated present tomorrow over the fast Galway stages in his new Hyundai i20 R5.

The MK Rallying Team of Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett will attract much interest.

The car is being supplied and run by Donegal based PCRS Motorsport, under the stewardship of Phillip Case.

This news comes immediately on the back of confirmation that Applegreen, their main sponsor for 2018, has renewed their association with the team for 2019.

This week also saw confirmation that MK Rallying has secured the support of German based Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing.

Manus commented ‘with PCRS, Applegreen and Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing all signed up, together with other sponsors, this has given us a solid platform to plan a full programme for 2019. This is a dream come true for Donall and I, to be competing in the Championship which in itself has taken a huge step forward in 2019 in terms of the quality of competition. Donall and I can’t wait to get started this weekend at the Galway International’.
