Cockhill made the brighter start but it was the home side that had the first chance when a free was smartly saved by Lee Mc Carron. Cockhill’s first chance saw Jack Mc Daid shoot over when well placed.

Adam Mc Laughlin then brought two fine saves from Glen Watson before the same player headed narrowly wide. Cockhill opened the scoring on 41 minutes when Mark McDaid found Jack Mc Daid to shoot high to the roof of the net.

Damien Ward had a good chance to level the scores early in the second half but his effort flew over the crossbar. Cockhill increased their lead on 72 minutes when Adam McLaughlin crossed for Shay McLaughlin to head home from six yards.

Evan Mc Laughlin had a final chance for Rovers on 87 minutes when his shot was narrowly wide.
