The Government’s Capital Sports allocation programme has allocated just over €1 million to Donegal.

A total of €40.5 million for 880 sports projects across the country was announced earlier today by Michael Ring, Minister of State for Tourism and Sport.

Sporting projects throughout Donegal will benefit greatly from the funding with Castlefinn Celtic Football Club receiving a total of €100,000.

The following clubs will also benefit: Drumkeen United F.C., Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Cill Charthaigh, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Ard an Rátha, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Na Cealla Beaga, Sheephaven Sub Aqua Club, Cumann na gCurrach – Cloich Chionnaola, Lifford Athletic Club, Mountcharles Rowing Club, Rosses Athletic Club, and St. Johnston Cricket Club.

A total of 96 applications from Co. Donegal were made to the Capital Sports allocation programme.
