Donegal have been beaten by Cavan in today’s Dr. McKenna Cup match at MacCumhaill Park.
Cavan, who beat Tyrone last time out, emerged as comfortable victors on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-6.
The young Donegal side trailed by 0-3 to no score early on but drew level through a goal from Eathan O’Donnell.
The sides were level at the break, Donegal 1-2, Cavan 0-5.
Cavan had the better of the second half.
Fifteen minutes into the second half Rory Dunne scored Cavan’s first goal to put them 1-10 to 1-5 ahead.
Paul O’Connor added a late second goal for the visitors to extend their lead to 2-13 to 1-6, and they added one more point before the final whistle.
