Talented Dublin player Diarmuid Connolly is set to spend the summer playing in America - with Donegal Boston.

The news will come as a blow to the All-Ireland Champions, with many fans of the Dubs hoping that Connolly would yet emerge during the championship.

It has been reported this morning on Independent.ie that Connolly is set to jet out to the USA once again.

Last year he also had a stint with Donegal Boston and helped them to win the Boston Senior Football Championship.

Dublin manager Jim Gavin had said that if Connolly (31)  wanted to come back he would leave the door open.

But the 'Drive for Five' will carry on without him.

Last weekend Dublin cruised to yet another Leinster title with a facile win over Meath.
