Cockhill Celtic put in a battling performance but it proved not to be enough as they lost 2-0 to Premier Division Limerick in their FAI Cup first round clash at Charlie O'Donnell Park in Buncrana this afternoon.

After a scoreless first half Limerick went ahead three minutes into the second period when Gavin Cullen was beaten by a Killian Brouder 30-yard daisy cutter.

The Premier Division side took command of the game when Karl O'Sullivan pulled back for Stephen Maguire to slot home in the 74th minute.
