Finn Harps    0    Shamrock Rovers "B"    1

Finn Harps goalkeeper Shaun Patton misread a speculative cross from Stephen Confrey as Shamrock Rovers snatched an unlikely first away win  of the season at Finn Park.
The teenage Harps goalkeeper, making his first league appearance of the season, had had precious little to do all night.

But he somehow failed to come and hold the ball in from Confrey and so Harps have now gone six games without a win.

It was rough justice on Harps who had been the better team for most of the night.
But yet again Harps finished with ten men, and yet again it was an incident that will infuriate manager Ollie Horgan.

Packie Mailey, who had already been booked, needlessly went in on Shamrock Rovers' goalkeeper Shane Fagan and lef referee Paul McLaughlin with little option but to send him off.
90 Mins: All over. Harps lose despite a last gasp goalmouth scramble.

82 Mins: GOAL. Shamrock Rovers score. Stephen Confrey floats in a speculative ball from the right win which Harps goalkeeper Shaun Patton misreads and fails to grasp only to see to his horror the ball crossing the line.

80 Mins: Packie Mailey gets a second yellow card for a needless challenge on goalkeeper Shane Fagan.

70 Mins; Harps have brough on Carel Tiofack in place of Michael Funston as the bid to try and get all three points. Harps are already eight points behind the league leaders Shelbourne prior to the start of this game and they don't want to lose more ground.

60 Mins: Finn Harps continue to be the better side and to enjoy more of the possession On 57 minutes, Michael Funston floats in a ball from the right but Sean McCarron can't make the telling connection at the far post. Ruairi Keating looks lively for Harps up front but needs to see more of the ball.

The second half is under way.

No changes on either side at half-time. Harps need to lift it, Defeat here would see them drop to second bottom, but a win could see them climb several places.

45 Mins: It's been a very poor first half here in Ballybofey with little for the crowd to enthuse about. The game badly needs something to lift it.

30 Mins: Harps are on top here but it has been a low-key contest, Their best chance fell to Pat McCann whose well struck 20th minute shot from the edge of the box was well saved by Shane Fagan.

15 Mins: Very little to report so far in front of Harps' smallest crowd of the season.
Game on.

There's a big crane and building work going on next door to Finn Park - bit it's not Finn Harps new ground.

No, it's the new Aldi store being built.

A sign of changing times and on the field of play, Harps are taking on Shamrock Rovers "B" for the first time in Ballybofey.

After a bright start to the season, Harps have struggled of late and slipped to sixth in the table.

Rovers' second string are one of only two clubs below Harps in this eight team league and this game falls into the "must-win" category for the Ollie Horgan managed side.

Team news here is that Conor Winn who has started every game of the league campaign in 2014 in nets has been dropped with Letterkenny teenager Shaun Patton being given his first league start of the season.

Thomas Bonnar and Ruairi Keating are back in the starting line-up with James Doherty and Mark Forker on the bench.
