Imagine the disappointment of going out on the second last stage of a rally that you really, really wanted to win.

Well, Donagh Kelly's and co-driver Conor Foley's Donegal International Rally ended on Stage 19 as they came off the Atlantic Drive.

Desperate to catch leaders Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett, they were pushing hard - but hit a bump, and ultimately damaged the car to the extent that they subsequently withdrew and did not compete in the final stage.

But it wasn't long until Donagh was getting it out of his system at the nearby Harbour Bar in Downings as he rattled off a few tunes and took time out to unwind.

Disappoinment again for the Frosses man, it was a case of so near and yet so far having led for long periods.

His version of Las Vegas in the Hills of Donegal has attracted considerable interest on social media.
