A well known Donegal man is celebrating  after his dog won the prestigious 2018 Ladbrooks Easter Cup worth €25,000.

Jason Whyte, from Lifford, was over the moon as "Colarhouse Gerry", trained by Owen McKenna, won the feature race over 550 yards in 29.56 at Shelbourne Park in Dublin on Saturday night.

Colarhouse Gerry was quickly out of trap one and led all the way.

He beat Kilgraney Master into second with Fast Fit Alex in third.

The hot favourite Good News failed to impress.

The Whyte family are particularly well known in greyhound racing circles.
