Donegal goal hero Leo McLoone says that the manner in which Donegal achieved their objective in Celtic Park at the weekend was the most pleasing aspect on reflection.

While there were a number of superb individual showings for the winners including McLoone’s own input over the 70 minutes; the Naomh Conaill man was quick to spread the credit.

“With Rory (Kavanagh) and Neil (Gallagher) out, lads stepped in and did really well. We stuck to what Jim told us to do and thankfully it paid off,” he said.

It was McLoone’s goal at the beginning of the second-half, which really knocked the stuffing out of Derry and saw them go missing for a considerable period of time. That allowed Donegal to tag on 1-5 without reply and that was when this one was won.
