CLG BnaG v Naomh Colmcille
The Seniors and Reserves will take on Naomh Colmcille of Newtown this Saturday. Both games are at home with the Seniors at 7.30pm and the Reserves at 6pm
CLG BnaG 2-12 Naomh Columba 2-12
The Reserves picked up their first point of the season after a hard fought draw with Naomh Columba on Saturday evening. Playing against a strong breeze they held Naomh Columba well but struggled to get the scores themselves in the first half. They conceded 2 goals either side of an Adam Serrinha penalty to leave themselves 6 behind at the break, 1-3 to 2-6. In the second half they were much improved and certainly brought their shooting boots with some fine scores from some unlikely sources! Joey Cullen marked his return with a goal to bring a point between the sides and before long they were level. The final whistle came just in time as Naomh Columba were breaking up the pitch, which they were most disappointed with. Next up for the Reserves is a home game against Naomh Colmcille. Team: Gavin McFadden, Kieran Sheridan, Cormac Friel, Gearoid Horkan, Enda McHugh (0-2), Paul Grier, Ryan Ferry (0-1), Bull (0-2), Anthony Fisher (0-2), Paul Nash, Adam Serrinha (1-2), Joey Cullen (1-1), Hugh Mc Menamin (0-1), James Whelan, Paul Fisher. Subs: Emmet Conaghan (0-1) for McMenamin, Luke Trearty for Whelan, Ryan McDaid for Ferry (all 48m), Dean Boyce, Aidan Hannigan
CLG BnaG 6-17 Red Hughs 3-1
Our U14s kicked off there championship game with a home fixture against Red Hughs on Wednesday Evening. If the Senior fixture between these teams was somewhat a war of attrition this game was the opposite with the home side racing into an early lead with two early goals. Ryan Toye and Niall Trearty dominated midfield from the start and Red Hughs were unable to cope with the runners in the attacking home side and struggled to get a hold in the game. With a comfortable lead at half time manager Harry O’Hara decided to utilise his bench. With wholesale changes from the home side it took a while for some of them to settle into the game, this allowed for a slight reprieve for the Killygordon men. However this was short lived and with further scores from sub James Moore the boys in blue ran out comfortable winners with a score line of 6-17 to 3-1. Best for Milford were Ryan Toye, Niall Trearty and Peter Curran. The U14s were scheduled to play Moville tomorrow but it has been rescheduled for next week. Time and date to be announced. Odhran Crossan, Luke Serrihna, Niall Ferry, Enda McGinley, Conor Coll, Peter Curran, Kieran Sheridan, Niall Trearty, Ryan Toye, Fionn Robinson, Conor Mc Hugh, Jamie-Lee Blaney, Rory O’Donnell, James Sweeney, Darragh Greene, Luke McAteer, James Moore, Gerard McAteer, Barry Donnelly, Ross Trearty, Reece Ufton
CLG BnaG 5-13 Red Hughs 2-6
Great win for the girls last night against Red Hughs. Playing against the breeze in the first half they led 2-3 to 2-2 thanks to the excellent Rachel Roarty. With the breeze behind them in the second half they took control in the match and were easy winners in the end. Emma Mcgettigan, Sinead McCahill, Rachel Roarty, Megan Ryan were best for the girls in which was an excellent team performance.
Glenfin 0-3 CLG BnaG 3-7
The Ladies had an excellent victory over Glenfin last Saturday evening. It was a very good team performance with Fiona McLaughlin, Claire Murray and Mairead Coll best.
The U12 team travelled to St Eunans on Monday night. The A Team were defeated despite a very good second half performance with good displays from Eoin O'Donnell, James Smeaton and 2 goals from the half back Eamonn O'Donnell. The B Team followed on from their victory last week with another good win after a great team effort and special mentions to Liam Donnelly, Niamh O'Donnell and Sarah Barrett who are improving every week.
