There was a ripple of excitement among Irish rally fans last night as the news broke that Northern Irish professional motorcycle racer Michael Dunlop would be switching two wheels for four wheels as he decided to make his rally debut at the Donegal International Rally next weekend!
Dunlop (25), nephew of World Champion Joey Dunlop, will be driving a 300 bhp Ford Escort as he takes on the three-day course around Donegal partnered by local co-driver James McNulty.
Fresh from victories at the North West 200 and at the blue-riband Senior TT event on the Isle of Man, the news is sure to get rally fans and motorcycle enthusiasts excited as they keep a watchful eye out for the motorcycle champion who will be No. 57 in the 150-strong Donegal International Rally.
