One of biggest names in Irish sport will be the special guest at the Donegal Sports Star Awards ceremony on Friday, January 25th.

Ruby Walsh, one of the most successful jockeys ever, will be in Letterkenny for the awards ceremony - and will make a number of presentations - and will also be interviewed about his career.

The Kildare native was Irish National Hunt champion jockey in 1998/99, 2000/01, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17.

He was the Leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

He was the recipient of the Horse Racing Ireland National Hunt award in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the recipient of the International Jockey of the Year (Lester) Awardin 2007, 2008 and 2010.

He has enjoyed some great success on top horses, including Hurricane Fly, Kauto Star, Papillon, Faugheen, Annie Power, Douvan, Big Buck's and Commanche Court.

There are over 40 categories at the 2018 Donegal Sport Star Awards.

Tickets for the function are now available from reception  in the Mount Errigal Hotel where the function will take place.
