Finn Harps newest signing- who had recently been with Spanish club Hércules F.C. based in Alicante - was snapped up just in time to get clearance to make his debut for Finn Harps in tonight's big Division One game against Longford Town.

Oluwatunmise (Timmie) Sobowale is a native of Waterford.

The 19-year-old midfielder played underage football for Waterford side Villa FC before moving to Shelbourne.

He signed for the Waterford United U17 side in 2015 and played with them for two seasons.

The Irish Schoolboy international made his senior league debut for the Blues in a scoreless draw with Cabinteely at the RSC in September 2016. In all Timmie made four league appearances by the end of that season.

Finn Harps Secretary John Campbell said this evening that securing the international clearance had been a painstaking process but he was delighted that Oluwatunmise Sobowale is now officially a Finn Harps player.

“We’re are happy that the paperwork has finally been completed so that Timmie can be part of Ollie’s [Horgan] squad for tonight’s game. We would like to all those who assisted us with getting the international clearance sorted. We hope it’s goes well for Timmie here at Finn Park and that he can play a big part in keeping us in the promotion race over the next couple of months,” Mr Campbell said.

Sobowale was named in the Harps team that played Longford this evening.
