Cycling enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice this Summer with a whole range of events for every age group being held over the Summer.
Errigal Cycling Club have a variety of events lined-up including the Errigal International Youth Tour 2014, Errigal Woman’s Tour, and the ‘Hills of Donegal’ Tour.
The ‘Hills of Donegal’ tour gets underway this Saturday at 8.15am. Registration is €15.00 and will take place at the Lagoon Bar in Termon – located on the main N56 between Letterkenny and Dunfanaghy – on Saturday morning before the cycling commences. The ‘Hills of Donegal’ tour is a challenging route consisting of 150km/120km or the shorter 100km non competitive sportive.
The Errigal Woman’s Tour takes place on Tuesday, June 17th at 7.00pm with registration taking place from 6.15pm at the Lagoon Bar Termon. There are 17/30 mile options and the course is flat going from Termon, Ramelton, Milford and back to Termon – those wishing to take the longer course will go via Ray Bridge. The course is suitable for all levels from beginners with mountain bikes to the more experienced.
Errigal Cycling Club’s 3rd International Youth Tour is taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend from August 2nd to August 4th. The Errigal International Youth Tour is a festival of competitive cycling racing for boys born between 1998 and July 2004 and girls born between 1996 and July 2004. Endorsed by Cycling Ireland and Cycling Ulster it is the premier youth event in the Irish cycling calendar. The first two days of the event will take place in the village of Churchill and race headquarters will be in Gartan Outdoor Education Centre.
