Former student of St. Eunan's College, Letterkenny, Darren 'The Dazzler' Mangan will be making his professional debut on Friday, September 5th in Brooklyn Masonic Temple.

The Junior welterweight lived in Donegal for 7 years before moving Stateside to pursue his boxing dream. Darren was 'delighted' earlier this year when he was signed by New York-based Uprising Promotions for his pro-debut, and the excitement just keeps on building as September 5th looms.

He told Donegal Now, "I'm really excited. Most people I've talked to about their debuts say they are nervous weeks, but I'm so relaxed about it!

"I'm focused on the job in hand and just listening to the instructions that my promoter - Ronson Frank, my strength and conditioning coach - Rob Piela, and my trainer - Colin Morgan, are giving me."

Previously stating that there is a 'buzz' out in New York as 'they know a new Irish fighter is in town', he has been overwhelmed from the support he has received from home with some close friends and family hoping to make the journey across the Atlantic to support him in his professional debut.

"The support has been amazing, I really cannot fault it," he stated.
