Donegal’s Jason Quigley will making his pro-debut on July 12th in the 17,000 seater MGM Grand in Las Vegas as part of the undercard of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s fight against Erislandy Lara.

22 year-old Quigley, who hails from Ballybofey was the first Irishman to win silver at the World Amateur Championships in Kazakhstan. Earlier this year he signed with Golden Boy Promotions, which was founded by the renowned Oscar De La Hoya.

The Ballybofey man said on Box Nation TV: “I’m making my pro debut on the undercard of Carnelo v Lara and I’m absolutely delighted!”

Quigley has been tipped for massive success, but his decision to turn professional means he will no longer be able to compete for Ireland in the 2016 Olympics.
