Some of the top names in rallying are set to head for Donegal later this year for a special reunion event that will also act as a fundraiser for Donegal Hospice.

A number of highly successful “Déjà Vu” reunion events have already been held in a variety of locations.

And now, the organisers of Donegal Déjà Vu, Alan (Plum) Tyndall, well known as the Producer of the RPM television programmes and Dr. Beatty Crawford, an international rally co-driver and winner of the Circuit of Ireland Rally, are preparing to release details of the two day event.

It will take place on August 30th-31st, and will see some rally legends (and their cars) coming to Donegal.

It is expected that the format for the event be based on the success of the Titanic Déjà vu Ulster 2018 event.

It was based in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, and after Park Fermé opened, there was a welcome reception on day one. Day two saw a cavalcade of those taking part as they headed off on a 140 mile route over the classic Antrim stages and the Causeway Costal Route.

Later a Gala Dinner was held in Titanic Belfast Hotel with videos, star driver interviews and entertainment.

It is expected that the Dèjà Vu Donegal 2019 itinerary will see a route taking in some of the classic stages that have featured in the Donegal International Rally over the years.

Since their conception, the Dèjà Vu gatherings of famous rallying personalities and cars have raised over €100,000 for worthwhile causes.

Cathal Curley, winner of the first three Donegal International Rallies, as well as representatives of the Donegal Hospice and the Donegal Motor Club, will be at a special launch for the event at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, at 11.00 am on Tuesday, January 22nd to answer questions regarding the route and potential entrants.
