Donegal's Shay Given played for Aston Villa today in their 3-2 defeat of Everton in the Barclay's Premier League.
With the arrival of new boss Tim Sherwood, it appears that the Lifford native is very much back in the mix as he competes with Brad Guzan to be first choice between the sticks.
Last week Guzan had a nightmare in the clash against Manchester City that Villa lost 3-2.
Consequently, he was dropped as Given was recalled to the first team for a league game in which the home side were on top for most of the game.
Given will be hoping to stay in nets for the remaining league games and also in the Wembley final.
And this win was absolutely vital as the midlanders bid to secure their top flight status.
Given, who has helped Villa to reach the FA Cup Final, is hoping to end the season on a high.
