Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett are on top of the world this evening after winning the Donegal International Rally for a second year in a row in their Subaru Impreza.

"It was a savage achievement," beamed Kelly as he spoke afterwards at the finishing ramp. "It was a brilliant event."

There was a huge reception for the duo as they came back into Letterkenny.

He was full of praise for Donagh Kelly, in the Ford Focus, who pushed him all the way before hitting a bump on the second last stage that put pay to his chances, and led to the latter withdrawing shortly afterwards.

Kelly and Barrett won by one minute 54.2 seconds in the end, with Alistair Fisher and Gordon Noble  (Ford Fiesta R5) pipping Garry Jennings and Rory Kennedy (Subaru Impreza) for third.

Donegal's Damien Gallagher and Mac Walsh (Ford Escort MKII) won the National Rally ahead of Declan Gallagher and John McCarthy.

See the winner arriving in Letterkenny for the celebrations at the finish ramp at the Mount Errigal Hotel.
