Clonmany Res        3

Rasheney   FC         1

In a surprise result Clonmany avenged an earlier defeat at the hands of their near neighbours. On 15 minutes the visitors matthew Mclaughlin gained possession inside the area but could not get a shot away.

At the other end a corner found David McGonigle but unmarked he headed just over. Midway through the half a Brendan Doherty free was gathered by Liam McGonigle in the home goal. Clonmany countered and when Nathan McKinney crossed Jake Harkin headed just wide.

At the start of the second half the home sides Eoin Mclaughlin fed Pearse McCarron but his effort was saved by Friel. McCarron then found himself in space and advanced to drill a superb effort to the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Midway through the half the home side lost possession allowing Damien Friel break into the home area and fired low past McGonigle from fifteen yards to equalise. Clonmany replied and when Gavin McDaid fed Conor Doherty he failed to hit the target with the goal at his mercy. At the other end McGonigle made a good save to deny substitute Jack McLaughlin.

On 81 minutes a Matthew Brennan cross was collected by Conor Doherty who crossed for McCarron who powered a brilliant header low into the corner from six yards. Minutes later they added a third goal when McKinney advanced and from a tight angle drove the ball past Friel and into the far corner.
