The North West Women’s Super League splits into two from this evening as the next phase of games throws up some cracking contests.
Just three points separate the top four teams ahead of two crunch clashes at Dry Arch Park and Traigh-A-Loch tonight.
Leaders Greencastle travel to face Bonagee United at Dry Arch Park (7.30pm).
Greencastle have a two-point cushion to both Bonagee and Fanad United, who are joined on 16 points.
Kerry Brown has been in scintillating form for Greencastle and it was her double that helped Paddy Keys’ team to a 2-1 win in the corresponding game at Chapel Lane after Alice Diver fired Bonagee in front.
That was Bonagee’s only League defeat in their opening seven fixtures ahead of the split that sees top four and bottom four play against each other in a home-and-away basis.
Bonagee lost 1-0 to Castlebar in the WFAI Shield on Sunday while Greencastle were heavily beaten by Illies in the Inishowen Cup.
Illies have an away date to Manulla in the WFAI Cup on Sunday, but they first must make the tricky trip to Fanad, who have had a fine campaign so far in their first season back in senior football.
In the second section, Lagan Harps travel away to Carndonagh FC while Moville Celtic are at home to Clonmany Shamrocks.
Tonight's fixtures (kick-off 7.30pm)
Thursday, July 12, 7.30pm
Bonagee United v Greencastle
Fanad United v Illies
Carndonagh v Lagan Haeps
Moville Celtic v Clonmany
