The Dr McCloskey Cup is sitting proudly in Urris’ new clubhouse at Crampsey Park after a sensational performance earned them the club’s fifth Donegal Junior Title at MacCumhaill Park on Sunday evening.

Goals at the end of each half proved crucial for the Straid side in edging past the fancied Dunkineely men who had won when the sides met in the group stages of the tournament in the summer.

“It’s a great feeling for us, I couldn’t fault any of them today,” Urris boss Danny Kelly told after the game. “The goals both came at a good time with the second one putting a nice polish on it for us at the end.

“When we lost to Naomh Ultan up in Straid we looked at that game and we had 14 scores to their 12, it was the goals that won them the game so we knew if we could keep the goals out today we’d have a good chance. Goals win games in a tight match and thankfully it was us that got them today.”

Final score - Urris 2-9 Naomh Ultan 0-8
