As the sun shone brightly across Donegal this morning, Leitirmacaward's Declan Boyle woke up with such different thoughts on his mind.
What a difference 24 hours can make.
He is now the Triton Showers National Rally Champion.
Yesterday morning, he got up to compete in the Donegal Harvest Rally after a bad night's sleep and illness. It was dark, it was miserable, it was quite simply a rotten day. But it had a happy ending.
Today he can rightly reflect on a fine year of rallying.
The clip below shows the finishing ramp at the rally HQ at Jackson's Hotel, Ballybofey.
He began the nine stage rally - around the Ballybofey area - very gingerly. Indeed, he was 20th after stage one.
But he gradually moved up the leaderboard.
Going into the event, both Josh Moffett and Joseph McGonigle still had an outside chance of taking the title if they won the event.
Both pushed hard, and Josh Moffett was second to the overall Harvert Rally winner, his brother Sam.
Boyle, meanwhile, just did enough and finished eighth overall, with James O'Reilly in the Ford Fiesta WRC.
So Boyle has now won this championship for the third time, a feat only previously achieved by Monaghan's Niall Maguire.
