Finn Harps 2        Wexford Youths  2

Finn Harps twice threw away a lead as battling Wexford Youths earned a point to keep them very much in the promotion race after a thriller at Finn Park.

For Harps this was an 11th draw of the season and this result more or less ends any flickering homes of challenging for a play-off berth.

In the end, it was a fair result.

Josh Mailey fired Harps after just two minutes from the edge of the box.

But Ben Ryan equalised on 15 minutes with a cracking long-range effort after Mailey had lost possession in midfield.

Wexford then looked the livelier and went close through Eric Molloy who fired just over before the break.

Kevin McHugh restored Harps lead on the hour after being put through .y Gareth Harkin,

Harps then missed a penalty on 72 minutes with McHugh firing well wide of the target after a controversial handball decision.

Danny Furlong punished Harps as he converted a spot-kick three minutes later.

Harps had Caoimhin Bonner sent off late on for dissent and both sides missed great chances in injury time.

Danny Furlong saw a curling effort strike the bar while at the other end Gareth Harkin rushed into the box but was just wide.
