Premier Division Derry City made a winning start to their pre-season games as they defeated Ulster Senior League side Letterkenny Rovers 3-0 at Maginn Park in Buncrana.
City boss Kenny Shiels used the occasion to cast his eye over numerous trialists and some of the club's younger players in difficult conditions.
City led 1-0 at the break and added two more goals in the second half courtesy of Inishowen striker Cathal Farren and Greek trialist Antonio Rikkas.
With the Brandywell being redeveloped Derry City will play their home games this season at Maginn Park which is owned by the Inishowen Football League.
In recent weeks works have been undertaken to upgrade the ground, including the installation of some seats that used to be on the Lone Moor Road side of the Brandywell.
