According to the Irish Nurse and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley and Ward Watch there are currently 24 people on trolley’s in Letterkenny General Hospital, while another 4 are on the ward.
The INMO also released details of the number of bed closures around the country, as of May 6th there were a total of 8 beds closed in Letterkenny General Hospital.
The figures also showed that from January to April 2014 there was a total of 650 patients on trolley’s in the Emergnecy Department of Letterkenny General. Numbers were at their highest in 2006 when they reached 1,090 within the same time periond, though they have been steadily rising since 2011.
