Met Eireann has just issued an severe Orange weather alert for Donegal.

It will run from midday Tuesday 12th March until at least 9am on Wednesday 13th March 2019.

The alert reads:

"As Storm Gareth approaches, westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 75km/h with damaging gusts reaching 110 to 130km/h.

There is also the risk of coastal flooding due to high seas.

Other counties affected by the ORANGE alert includes Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
